The Zen Ninja Code

Welcome to Zen Ninja — a space for navigating the chaos of modern life with clarity and calm.

As someone balancing family, business, and the endless demands of our digital world, I have found that the ancient principles of Zen offer a path through the noise. This site is my exploration of finding peace amidst the complexity, and applying timeless wisdom to contemporary challenges.

Here, you will find reflections on mindfulness, presence, and purposeful action — tools for staying centred when everything around us pulls in different directions.

The Zen Ninja Code

1. The Still Blade

My greatest weapon is stillness.

I do not strike at thoughts or fears;

I let them dissolve in awareness.

When the blade is still, it reflects the truth clearly.

2. Fire and Water

Within me burns the fire of will —

to build, to lead, to create.

Yet I flow like water, unresisting, adapting, cooling the flame.

Fire gives purpose.

Water gives peace.

Balance is mastery.

3. The Way of Thought

Thoughts are not enemies — they are clouds passing through my sky.

I watch them form and fade.

I do not chase them; I do not fear them.

The clear sky of Mind remains untouched.

4. The Dance of Presence

In every moment, I move as one with life.

When I walk, I walk.

When I work, I work.

In the smallest act, I find the universe waiting to meet me.

5. The Quiet Victory

I win without battle.

I influence without control.

When I act from the still centre,

others feel the calm and follow it home.

6. The Mirror of Compassion

Every person I meet is my reflection.

Their fear, their fire, their peace — all are mine.

To know them, I must first see myself clearly.

7. The Source

Beneath all doing, there is Mind —

infinite, creative, awake.

When I rest in that source,

right action rises of its own accord.

Zen Ninja Koan

When the blade is still, what cuts the air?
When fire meets water, which one burns?
The ninja moves without moving — who sees him?
The battle ends, yet no one has fought.

In silence, I speak. In stillness, I move.
Where is the warrior when there is no war?

Jakugo

The blade untouched, the air already split.

The fire cools, the water burns.

The roar of silence shakes the stars —

yet not a leaf has stirred.
